Why Is Crawling So Important?

Why Is Crawling So Important?

Crawling is important! You already knew that, right?

But why is the crawling phase so significant in a child's development? For example, why is the strengthening of the back muscles suitable?! If the child has strong back muscles when they start getting on their feet beside furniture, the risk of the head outweighing the body and the baby losing balance is minimal.

The parents who already saw their baby falling onto their back and head while trying to get onto their feet would surely agree that it is not a pleasant experience. If the child's muscles are strong enough, the child can control the fall and fall to the floor back first while holding their head up.

Or, in the most ideal case, they’ll fall onto their buttocks. And that is why it is worth it to support your baby in crawling. If the baby can sit when crawling, it means their back muscles are strong enough. And always ensure you are watching over your child when they are trying to get up on their feet beside the furniture.
